It is not easy to delimit Arab music, since the principles on which it is based have been taken from nonArab towns: Moors, Byzantine, Iranian, etc. Despite, we will distinguish between pure Arab music, the one that was practiced and is practiced still today in its primitive form, very previous to the coming of the Islam, and the other, more recent, formed under the Arab domination, during the Muslim expansion. In the conquered countries the Arab elements have adapted to regional music in a every time different balance; in order to say it more clearly, we would have to say Arab music Andalusian Egyptian Arab music etc; by before the saying, the regional differences are more outstanding than those than they could be in European music between the French art and Italian and this one with the German and forces not to forget its fluctuating nature to us. Both small kingdoms of Gassn and Hyra located in the border of Byzantium and Persia, served as barrier of containment a the Arab attacks from the desert.
